The Diamond Dragon
When a young boy, Hans Griegor, absent-mindedly carves a mysterious creature into the bark of a tree, what seems to be simply a carving, becomes the start of a journey of self-discovery.
Whilst in prison for attempting to steal hens for his starving family, he meets another young boy by the name of Thorn. Realising they have a connection to each other, they embark on a journey to find their destiny. Along the way, they hear about the mystical creature called the Diamond Dragon, living in the Barren Lands, who lays a diamond egg, that allows whomever looks at it, to see their past lives and their destiny. Is this linked to their own destinies?
Overcoming massive struggles, they discover a truth about themselves, in the form of a power that gives them in-human strength, a power that is ignited by the touch of fire. This power is known as the Power of the Dragon and is gifted to them in this life to aid them in their quest.
Their original quest was to find out who they were. But when they do find out, they realise there is a lot more to their stories and discover why they are linked. They must now work together to right a wrong from their pasts and heal a land that has been destroyed by war.
REVIEW -
I realized how immersed in the book I became once I picked it up. You brought the story to life with the characters Hans and Thorn. With your words you painted a picture of the prison life and then the beauty that the Diamond Dragon brought to the world which Hans lived in. I thought it would be hard for you to improve on your first book The Storyteller but you accomplished that and much more.
Chris you are a Storyteller.
